About This Spot

Stepping into Ginza Sushiyoshi Hanare feels like slipping into an intimate, thoughtfully curated moment tucked away above the bustling streets of one of Tokyo’s most refined neighborhoods. The subtle hum of quiet conversations mingles with the gentle clink of ceramic sake cups, setting a calm yet expectant mood. It’s a space where time slows just enough to appreciate the artistry unfolding steady and unhurried before you.

This sushi bar, modest in size but rich in character, invites you to settle by the counter and become part of a shared ritual—the silent choreography between chef and ingredients. The young team behind the scenes moves with practiced grace, layering flavors and textures that reveal both seasonal bounty and delicate craftsmanship. Each bite is a soft discovery, from the warmth of a thick, sweetly caramelized tamagoyaki to the fleeting freshness of sea-kissed fish, lightly seared or marinated to coax out new dimensions.

The atmosphere embraces a quiet respect for tradition while welcoming the subtle hum of international curiosity. It’s easy to feel seen and attended to here, as the staff’s attentiveness blends seamlessly with the focus on the meal itself. There’s a gentle generosity in the pacing—just enough courses to draw you in without lingering too long—making it a perfect spot for both a special celebration or a pause in a day of city exploration.

Accompanying the sushi, thoughtfully chosen sake and nuanced liqueurs offer a delicate marriage of tastes, enhancing without overwhelming. It’s clear that pairing and presentation aren’t afterthoughts but part of the same experience of discovery, inviting a patient appreciation of season, place, and the fleeting pleasure of shared moments.

Autumn is my favorite season for weather and food, and I was here exactly because they had a Seiko crab menu! Reservations are by Tabelog or Tablecheck (I tried asking my hotel to reserve but they ended up referring me back to the sites). I don’t speak fluent Japanese so I was relieved that there was a Taiwanese chef to explain things to me. This place was an accidental find by a friend who recommended it to me! I had 24 dishes in total and my favorites were the crab, kuruma, katsuo, scallop with seaweed… and I know I may sound like a typical Singaporean now but trust me when I say the ikura and uni are to die for. I’ve never had ikura this fresh, and uni was creamy sweet mmm SO GOOD. I would repeat this two if I had stomach space

The experience was incredible! If you are looking for an omakase to try, this is definitely the place. We booked ahead on tabelog and had no problems day of. We paid a fee for the reservation and then paid with card day of after the meal. Incredible experience.

Went on 11/26 and really enjoyed my experience. The staff were great and they catered to English-speakers. Not all courses are pictured as there were simply too many to get pictures of. Food quality here was excellent and they provided a large variety of flavors to try. The staff followed me out the door to thank my for my visit. Would highly recommend.

Omakase experience with young chefs. Everything is super fresh, nice drinks options. Not too many but enough to find a perfect pair with your course. Book in advance as the place is small. Sit by a counter to watch all the action. 10-12 courses, should last around 80 min, so don't expect spending the whole night there

The food and chefs made this a very special experience. Each dish is carefully curated and presented. I highly recommend to anyone celebrating a special occasion or wanting a lovely night out.

Highly recommend this place. Very fresh seafood with balanced seasoning, the sushi rice was also very good. The chef was welcoming and made us feel comfortable throughout the dining process. This is my second time visiting this restaurant and I can’t wait to go back again in the future!

There are so many other pieces than what I shared as attached. I went there with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and it was the best. The chefs are very professional and the ingredients are fresh!

We enjoyed our final dinner in Tokyo in a private dinner room with Chef Atsumi. A very cosy and neat place, excellent Sushi is prepared at the table, and well explained in English by Atsumi-san. not only her prepared delicacies, but also her service was unbeatable, realizing every detail (speed of eating, empty water glasses) before we could even say anything. A full sense food experience, absolutely worth the price!Thank you very much.
